The challenge was very helpful and perfect timing. I had made a commitment to a group of friends to really pursue health, not just dieting, and the challenge and all its inspiration were a daily morning routine to get me going.
This has been great. All the tips have been super motivating and helpful. I'm excited that I have finally made a dent in my weight loss goals.
This challenge has taught me the process and principles for healthy living. One year ago I weighed 265 lbs and was a type 2 diabetic. Today I weigh 169 and the diabetes is gone. I feel great! If that isn't inspiring I don't know what is!
I learn so much with these the challenges. This challenge I saw how and why I was failing and it was life-changing. It seems like I was meant to be here doing this. Looking forward to next learning experience!
Meltdown Challenge has provided a convenient place for my friends from all around the country to connect and support each other daily. We celebrate each other’s wins and cheer each other through the obstacles. The daily inspiration and tips ignite our passion to be better both physically and mentally
The challenge reminded me that there are many factors that go into a healthy life - not just food choices. There's hydration, sleep, rest, exercise, friends who encourage, and being with like-minded people also help tremendously.
Honestly when my friend invited me to do this challenge, I thought it sounded hokey and gimmicky. I didn't want to commit to a dieting competition - it just sounded like a good way to make me start stressing about my body. But I was very pleasantly surprised! The positivity of the daily little readings, the focus on overall physical and mental well-being... it was all stuff I believed in, and turned out to be a GREAT way to keep me accountable and aware of what I'm putting in my body! I am glad my friend convinced me to join!
this is my first ever weight loss anything. I have been on this for the past month or so now and I am very happy to say that just today I learned that I have gone down from 220 to 210. and i am very happy with that!
I am so thankful I had the opportunity to be a part of this challenge because of the positive changes that I have seen from it in my life! The challenge helped motivate me to get started, at a time I didn't seem to be able to motivate myself. I really appreciated the accountability I had through the challenge and the commitment I made to myself by being a part of it. Besides losing 5 lbs the first week, the first change I noticed, about half way through the challenge, was in the way I moved so much better on the tennis court playing with my family. Now, overall I have lost 11 lbs & have met my 6% weight loss goal. Through this challenge and the positive changes I have seen in my life & health, I believe I have formed a lifelong healthy habits.
Fat is the story of my life. There is not one picture in my entire life from birth to age 66 where I am not fat! Not only is my body fat but my mind is fat. No matter what I weigh I am fat. So what’s with this challenge program? It works! It inspires me to focus on myself and health one day at a time. It is not punitive; it gives me the freedom to be human and not tie my existence to what I weigh. It has the psychological piece that brings body image and mind into harmony. Learning that boredom, being lonely, anger, stress and being tired bring on behavior that is not in my best interest was enlightening. Since being fat has been a way of life for 66 years, being healthy will have to be the way of life for the next 39. I am going to live to be 105 and I will be healthy and I will enjoy every day - do not doubt it for even one minute.
My story is all about my legacy. Throughout the challenge, I have shared several of the healthy habits I have learned with my family. A few days ago my 7 year old daughter was sitting at the kitchen table with paper and pencil in hand. She asked me how to spell a couple of items. I went over and sat down next to her to find out what she was working on. She was creating a "Healthy List!" I almost cried I was so happy. It was a powerful moment for me. It not only reminded me how much our little ones learn from us and our actions but it also showed me the impact we can make in the lives of all those we come in contact with. I still have much to do to improve my overall health but thanks to this challenge I have been given a great jump start from which I can continue.
This challenge really helped me focus on the positive things I can do to manage my mind, body and soul. The challenge has been happening during a difficult time in my work life. It has allowed me to break things down and get back on track with my choices. I have to admit that I was unsure it would do anything;but it did, I am nearly at my goal weight and I feel great.
I started this challenge for myself. I really have wanted to get healthier for myself. I am learning a lot throughout the challenge. What I have really seen is that my children are watching me get healthier and are wanting the same. Instead of asking for junk food in their lunch boxes, they are asking me for fruit and yogurt and other healthy snacks. Instead of going down the junk food aisles at the grocery store, we stick to the produce section and look for other kinds of healthy snacks. I am proud of the changes in my family and the choices we are making to live healthier lives. I am blessed that i get to share the knowledge that I am receiving with my family.
This is probably the most motivating weight loss/get healthy program I have been on. The daily readings, team support, constant feedback, and inspirational stories have grabbed my brain and I'm paying attention. I'm making better choices daily and the stop-challenge-choose is my new mantra. I have not hit my weight goal, but I am making progress and it takes time for this old body and brain to adapt, but I'm getting there. The habits are forming, new brain synapses are forming and with that comes real change. Thank you.
When I was first approached to consider joining this Challenge, my first thought was it couldn't hurt and who knows I might learn something. Boy was I surprised!!!! This has been an amazing experience for me. I have constantly always said to myself, I'll lose those 10 pounds or I'll lose those 5 pounds, but really didn't have much success. During this challenge, I have made the connection with water and healthy habits. Now I make better choices and have lost weight and inches - I just keep shrinking little by little AND I LOVE IT !! I would recommend this program to anyone.
I would say that the biggest change that has happened is my joy. I read a quote once that went something like, being overweight and unhealthy is hard. Eating healthy and exercising is hard. Choose your hard. I've chosen to choose the hard that leads to health and happiness. I know that happiness doesn't just come from how you feel, or how you look, but it makes it much harder to find joy when you are struggling with being overweight and tired all of the time! This challenge has really kept me focused on that goal. And like I posted on my Team Wall, I have never once struggled this entire challenge. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that I had a specific time set and a specific goal. Not to mention the support from my team! I'm very happy to have been a part of this challenge and would be more than willing to join another one. Thank you!
It's amazing to see all the changes in my life, not just the weight, inches, but the mindset and attitude as well. I am both mentally and physically better today than I have been in years. I am not as fatigued as I have been for many years. I sleep better, and am relaxed more since I have been doing the 5-1 Plan. I just enjoy being my old self again!!!
The Challenge have changed me mentally and physically. I've taken my health to a whole new level, much closer to optimum health than I have ever been. I've always been passionate about health and fitness and had often encouraged my friends and family to make healthy choices. Now my friends and family are noticing the increase in healthy habits I've developed, thanks to this challenge, and they're interested in following my lead
